Having the right guitar to obtain the perfect "tone" is the quest of every guitarist. It is a pursuit that can take years for most players. 

Every guitar has it's own unique features and tonal qualities. The Les Paul Standard is probably one of the most often used guitars in rock, along with Fender. Jimmy Page often used a Les Paul.

One of the most important things to consider when buying a guitar is playability. Does it feel comfortable in your hands when you fret and strum a chord and move about the fingerboard. If you don't feel comfortable with a guitar, you will probably be less likely to pick it up and practice.
