What about Lessons? Many questions and disputes arise in regards to lessons. Many guitar players pride themselves on never having had a guitar lesson. Then on the other end of the spectrum are the guitar players who have studied music in college or who have had private lessons. Then there are players like me who are stuck in the middle somewhere. There are several websites that offer free guitar lessons. Web based tutorials can be a great way to learn how to play the guitar. I have a site that is being developed for guitar lessons which you may want to visit. It is called Night Owl Guitar Lessons. Be sure to visit some of the sites I have mentioned on my Links page. If you are interested in taking guitar lessons, visit your local music store and tell them what you want to learn. Have your goals written down. For example, I want to learn the blues like B. B. King. This will help you to be better prepared when you go to inquire about guitar lessons. Don't be afraid to ask them if they can help you acquire your goals. Once you have begun your lessons, stick it out for at least a month before you decide on staying with the instructor or choosing another instructor. Guitar magazines and songbooks are some of the best resources for teaching yourself the latest songs on the record charts. They also offer great tips from professionals in the music industry.
